Meet the Expert – Passionate Science Tutor & Qualified Teacher

I’m a fully qualified secondary school teacher (and ex marine biology researcher) who has a deep understanding of the Scottish and English science curriculum, with a biology specialism. With over 20 years of experience teaching and tutoring I’m passionate about helping young people build confidence, master science, and achieve their academic goals.
I’ve taught in a wide range of schools and colleges, supporting students at every stage — from early secondary to advanced exam levels — both in the classroom and through private tuition.​ I’ve had the privilege of supporting young people and adults at all stages of their learning journey — from building strong foundations in those early years, to preparing for major exams like N5s, GCSEs, Highers, A Levels and beyond. I understand how challenging science can feel, and I love breaking it down in a way that makes it clear, engaging, and even enjoyable.
I’ve worked with students of all abilities and learning styles — from those who need a little extra confidence, to high achievers aiming for top grades. I tailor every lesson to the individual, creating a supportive space where they can ask questions, explore ideas, and truly understand the subject. Whether your child is struggling with core concepts or aiming for top grades, I offer personalised, engaging support tailored to their needs and learning style. I believe every student can thrive with the right encouragement and the right strategies — and I’m here to help make that happen.
